Gardens by the Bay

A Walk Among The Supertrees of Singapore!

While Singapore is known for its dynamic cityscape with modern skyscrapers and high-rise buildings, it is also home to lush pockets of greenery that offer a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of the streets. One such site worth visiting is Gardens by the Bay.

Set amidst an expansive area spanning around 101 hectares, Gardens by the Bay is home to distinctive domed conservatories, soaring Supertrees and over 250,000 rare plants which offer a truly unforgettable day out in nature. Situated by the Marina Reservoir, this central Singapore attraction features three gardens by the waterfront, namely Bay Central Garden, Bay South Garden and Bay East Garden. Looking out across Marina Bay, the Bay East Garden has palm trees, pavilions, flowering shrubs and a waterfront promenade where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll, a quiet read or a picnic with family and friends.

Located within walking distance of Marina Bay, this picturesque site offers plenty to see and do for the entire family. One attraction worth visiting is the Flower Dome where you can enjoy the beauty of spring and the sight of blooming flowers and plants. This distinctive dome has a cool-dry, Mediterranean like climate where plants from such destinations as South West Australia, California and Central Chile can be seen.

As you explore the area make sure to visit the Cloud Forest, which is an enchanting attraction with misty backdrops, the tallest indoor waterfall in the world and rich biodiversity one would normally associate with highlands that can be found at high elevations. Among the sites of interest here are landscapes with such species as ferns, orchids and even the fascinating carnivorous, pitcher plant.

Make sure to explore Supertree Grove where you will find the iconic 25 to 50 metre tall tree structures which offer breathtaking views. There is a huge variety of plants on the Supertrees themselves, while not to be missed is a visit at night when these towering attractions come “alive” in an incredible lights show.
