Water Sports In Singapore

Have an Aquatic Adventure

Singapore, known as the ‘Lion City’, is located just off the Malay Peninsula’s southern tip. The Southeast Asian country is known for its terrific shopping, excellent attractions and vibrant nightlife making it a highly popular tourist destination. Highly developed, the country is a regional hub for commerce, leisure and entertainment and offers tourists a wide variety of things to do throughout the year. Tourists with a taste for adventure can try out an array of water sports in Singapore. Although it is not a well-known destination for water sports the island offers top class facilities and has ten sea sports clubs, six amazing beaches and one giant water theme park.
Those who want to try out windsurfing can either go to the People’s Association Sea Sports Club at East Coast Park or the National Service Resort and Country Club. Both places have dedicated instructors that can help newbies as well as those with a little experience. For those who want to try their hand at sailing there are a number of choices available. The National Sailing Centre which is home to the sailors of Team Singapore, the Changi Sailing Club, the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club, and the SAF Yacht Club are all places that can help one master the difficult techniques associated with sailing.
Although wakeboarding was introduced relatively recently to the country it has developed a dedicated fan base. Maxout Hydrosports, Extreme Sports and Launch Wakeboard School are great places to rent equipment or sign up for lessons. Cable skiing is another newly introduced sport. It is similar to water skiing but does away with the boat. Instead a cable is strung across a lake containing a moving mechanism and participants are hooked onto it. It is comparatively inexpensive to try and is loads of fun.
Singapore is a great place to visit thanks to its excellent infrastructure. Getting around is easy because of the extensive and efficient public transport network. Restaurants and food stalls can be found in abundance. It is also easy to find accommodation to suit one’s needs. Tourists looking for good Singapore Long stay apartments can try the Heritage Singapore. Boasting excellent service and a convenient location one can easily find a Singapore serviced apartment  to fit their requirements.
