Wave House Sentosa: Surf Paradise in Wave-less Singapore

The resort island of Sentosa in Singapore boasts an array of star-class theme parks and attractions, resorts and golf courses. Situated along Sentosa’s vibrant Siloso Beach, Wave House Sentosa is a sprawling 70,000 square-foot beachfront venue that offers a near-authentic Californian beachside vibe alongside a host of beachside activities and wave rides.

Situated near W Singapore Sentosa Cove, Wave House Sentosa is the fourth addition to the global Wave House chain and is in close proximity to many luxury Hotel in Sentosa Island. Inaugurated in October 2009, Wave House Sentosa welcomes visitors daily from 10.30 a.m to 10.30 p.m with its main attractions being the Double Flowrider and FlowBarrel, water rides that create surf-friendly waves on the shore of Singapore’s surf-waveless waters. A large park, Wave House Sentosa can accommodate up to 7,000 people, an advantage as the facility attracts an increasing number of surf-enthusiasts. Although there is no entrance fee, visitors have to purchase a ticket to participate in the Park’s water rides that include Double Flowrider and FlowBarrel. Beginners can receive an hour-long flowboard training at Double Flowrider where amateur surfers practice standing on a surfboard amidst 32 kilometers-per-hour water flows against a curved wall that create near-authentic ocean waves. For professional and experienced surfers, FlowBarrel’s simulated 10-foot high waves are ideal for surfing. Similar to Double Flowrider, FlowBarrel allows only two riders at a time and its curved design allows 100,000 gallons of water to flow at speeds of 48 kilometers-per-hour to create the ideal seamless surf wave. Making its mark on Singapore’s sports scene, Wave House Sentosa hosts Flow League Singapore where six member teams can compete in a highly anticipated water boarding tournament.

Hosting over 200 events each year including corporate events, cocktails and weddings, Wave House Sentosa is a popular venue for live musical performances. At night, the venue transforms into a vibrant DJ party where visitors can enjoy Californian-Asian inspired cuisine served at Wave House Restaurant and Bar and shop for swimwear at the 2,000 square-foot Wave House Sentosa Surf Shop.
