Why it’s called Little India?

Just as the name suggests, this district is simply a smaller version of India. The Indian culture retains here in many forms and this is why this area is so loved by tourists as well. Tourism is a popular industry here and with resorts such as Destination Singapore Beach Road, tourists find more reasons to fall in love with Little India.

Exploring the Indian Heritage

Indian Heritage can be truly explored at places such as the Indian Heritage Centre which houses a range of events, guided tours, and exhibitions throughout the year.

Shopping in Little India

If you decide to stay at a hotel near Bugis Junction in Singapore shopping is just a simple deal for you. You just have to head to the Little India Arcade or the Jothi Store and Flower Shop that have sweet treats, trinkets and other souvenirs.

Other popular attractions

To experience a touch of Hinduism during your journey, you can visit the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple that is dedicated to Goddess Kali. Other attractions include the Tekka Centre and the former house of Tan Teng Niah.
