Parks In Singapore

An Endless Number of Choices

Singapore may have a reputation as a cutting edge nation with plenty of skyscrapers and futuristic buildings, but few people realise that the island is also a place of immense beauty. Despite being a small island with a large population more than half of Singapore’s land area is covered in greenery. The island nation boasts four major nature reserves and around fifty parks. It would be quite a task to visit all of them during a single vacation. However, it is possible to visit the best parks in Singapore.

For nature lovers the place to visit is the Singapore Botanic Garden. Highlights of the botanic garden include the Evolution Garden (which, as its name suggests, traces the evolution of plants), a rainforest and the National Orchid Garden. Tours take place every Saturday and concerts and other events are also held here on a regular basis. The Singapore Botanic Garden is also a great place to have picnic. Another good place to have a picnic is the Sembawang Park. Located by the sea, the park has barbeque pits and plenty of tables. It can get a little crowded during the weekends but is always a fun place to visit.

For vacationing families the Pasir Ris Park is a terrific place to spend an afternoon. The park contains a playground for children and a fitness area for adults. One can walk along one of the park’s nature trails, take a pony ride or wander the large maze garden. While Pasir Ris Park is ideal for families, the Mount Faber Park is more suited for couples. Offering gorgeous vistas of Singapore, it is a terrific place to relax and watch the sunset.

Tourists looking for serviced accommodation Singapore can try the Somerset Liang Court Singapore. The Singapore serviced apartments contain all the best modern amenities and is ideal for both business and leisure travellers. The apartment building boasts a central location and is close to numerous shops and restaurants. It is also walking distance from the Clarke Quay MRT Station which is a major advantage. Singapore’s public transport system is quick, efficient and reaches the furthest corners of the island making it the perfect way of getting around.
