Sir Stamford Raffles

Sir Stamford Raffles was a British statesman and was the Lieutenant Governor of British Java and known as the father/Founder of Singapore. He had led so many conquests and was a key member who helped the British Empire to expand

History

History says that this was the site Sir Stamford Raffles landed in 28th of January 1819 and concluded his first treaty. It was said that his stay lasted for 10days.today this site is denoted by a statue of Sir Stamford Raffles located on the north bank of the Singapore River.
