Sultan Mosque

Most popularly referred to as Masjid Sultan, the Sultan Mosque of Singapore is of great significance for the Muslim community.  Leaning towards the direction of Mecca, the mosque has been designated as a national monument. Surrounded by a boundary wall, the mosque is distinguished by its most imposing feature, the two gold onion domes. Glass bottle ends which were collected by the sultan have been used to decorate the base of each dome. Various events of historical significance have been held at this religious site over the years.
